Hi! I’m Dena Tranen. I’m am a direct and interactive therapist specialized in helping thoughtful, high-achieving individuals get through life changes, overwhelm, and trauma.
I have extensive training treating individuals with Borderline Personality and Narcissistic Personality Disorders and supporting their family members in the process. Additionally, I enjoy working with co-parents as they navigate their new roles and relationship during and post-divorce as well as guiding couples to reconnect and re-align with each other through life’s challenges.
At Middle Way, we provide a comfortable and non-judgmental space where we use research-informed approaches to therapy, our own learned and lived wisdom, and slightly irreverent humor to build trust, capacity, and resiliency. Our work will challenge and empower you to expand on all levels while we work through your growth edges and find the ease and confidence you need to move your life in the direction of your dreams.
Our practice name originates from an ancient Buddhist concept, known as the “middle way” or “middle path”. It emphasizes the importance of living between extremes. When we train our minds to be curious, aware and flexible, we can reduce anxiety, create calm and deepen our relationships.
I believe deeply in the power and value of therapy.
I encourage you to reach out and begin an honest conversation with me about what you need and how I can be of service. If my schedule is booked, or I think another therapist can better serve you, I’ll do everything I can to connect you with the best match or resource to help you on your journey.
